Healthy Today, Stronger Tomorrow: RHO and PaGAF’s Two-Day Community Health Outreach
Some of the most rewarding outreaches are the ones that bring an entire community together and that’s exactly what happened on June 13th and 14th, when Radiance Hope Outreach partnered with the Pacific Ghanaian Adventist Fellowship (PaGAF) for a two-day, two-location health screening exercise under the theme “Building Healthier Communities for a Brighter Tomorrow.”

Day one took place at Ashalaja Government School from 1pm to 5pm, and day two moved to the Kofi Quaye Durbar Grounds, running from 9am to 5pm bringing the outreach right to where people live and gather. This was one of our more comprehensive screenings yet, offering a genuinely one-stop health check: electrocardiogram (ECG) testing, blood pressure checks, blood sugar testing (both fasting and random), BMI measurement with nutritional counseling, malaria parasite testing, Helicobacter pylori testing, eye screening, and a doctor’s consultation for every participant.

The turnout and warmth from the Kofi Quaye and Ashalaja communities made both days special. Local leadership stood firmly behind the initiative the Nkosɔɔhene of Kofi Quaye and Hon. Isaac Awuku Yibor both lent their support, helping mobilize residents and giving the outreach a real sense of community ownership. There’s something powerful about a durbar ground, usually a space for gathering and celebration, turned for a day into a place where people left with answers about their own health some for the very first time.

From blood sugar to blood pressure to malaria, screening for this many conditions in one sitting means fewer barriers between people and the answers they need. It’s exactly the kind of outreach Radiance Hope Outreach was built to do, and partnering with PaGAF and the local community leadership made it possible to reach two communities in two days.

We’re thankful to PaGAF, the Nkosɔɔhene of Kofi Quaye, and Hon. Isaac Awuku Yibor for standing with us “healthy today, stronger tomorrow” isn’t just a theme, it’s what we watched happen in real time.
