Your Health, Our Mission: RHO Brings Free Eye Screening to Kasapreko
Good vision is easy to take for granted until you can’t read a label clearly, or a headache from eye strain won’t go away. On July 1st and 2nd, Radiance Hope Outreach partnered with Kasapreko Company Limited, the Ghanaian beverage manufacturer marking over three decades in business, to bring a two-day free eye screening exercise to their staff at the Kasapreko PLC premises on the Spintex Road.
From 9am to 5pm on both days, our team set up at the workplace to make eye care as convenient as possible no clinic visit, no time off needed, just a short walk from the production floor or the office desk. Every participant went through a full round of screening: visual acuity testing for both distance and near vision, a basic eye health assessment, autorefractor screening to check for refractive errors, and eye pressure testing to screen for glaucoma risk. Each person then sat down one-on-one with our team for a personal consultation, where results were explained in plain language not just numbers, but what they actually meant for that person’s day-to-day life.
For employees who needed them, reading glasses were provided on the spot, and anyone whose results pointed to something that needed closer attention was given a referral for further examination.
It was a quietly moving two days. Watching someone realize, often for the first time, that their blurred vision wasn’t just “getting older” but something treatable that’s the moment this work is for. Kasapreko’s “See Better, Live Better, Work Better” spirit came through in how seriously their team took the exercise, lining up between shifts, encouraging colleagues to get checked too.
Under the banner of “Better Vision, Better Life,” this partnership is a reminder that workplace wellness and community health go hand in hand.
